Fresh from the Gardens in Hangzhou, this 2009 First Flush Dragonwell is superior to all other tea. Plucked from the bush in Early April, the leaves are minimally processed and packed shortly after picking. This is just about the freshest tea you can get! Our Dragonwell Tea brews up as a fresh, light cup of tea, with an aroma reminiscent of spring rain in a grassy meadow. Emperor Qianlong (1736-1796 A.D.) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.) proclaimed Dragonwell to be "The Imperial Tea." Dragonwell hails from the beautiful West Lake District - near Hangzhou in the Zhejiang Province. The West Lake District has long been revered for its beautiful, serene scenery and exquisite tea. Dragonwell is classified into 13 grades, and only the first three grades are top-quality Tea. The leaves are flat and straight, with a yellowish, emerald green color.
