WuYuan Ming Mei Organic Green Tea is one of the top 30 Chinese Teas. Ming Mei is from WuYuan County, Jiangxi Province. Grown at an elevation of 1000m (3000 ft) on the side of the Five Dragons Mountain, the WuLongShan. This tea is not grown anywhere else in China, so it is quite rare. Ming Mei is processed in six steps:
Tea is plucked and air dried in the shade.
It is then dried in the sun.
The tea leaves are hand rolled.
The tea is baked.
Next, the tea is stir fried.
Finally, the rolled tea leaves are baked again.
The tea is curled like a girls eyebrow, which is how it got its name. It has a pleasant, strong aroma. Ming Mei is fresh tasting, mellow, and refreshing. It brews a clear, green cup of tea. Only about 1,000 Kg are produced each year, in the Spring. USDA Certified Organic. Use 2 teaspoons per 12 to 16 oz pot. Use 180º - 195ºF. water. Steep for 2 to 3 minutes. 10 servings per ounce
